I wouldn't presume to tell anyone how to live their life, or give advice on life/work/travel balance. I found what works for me, doesn't mean it will work for everyone and doesn't mean it will work for me in the future. I don't want to give up my job to travel fulltime and I don't want to spend all my life at work. That out the way, I guess I need to say something about me in the about page.

Chained to my desk for many hours a day, I make sense of the world by travelling. I am an equity analyst, based in Houston where I have lived for the past 11 years. Born in Dallas, but grew up in Egypt to Egyptian parents. I am fascinated by history, culture, geopolitics, food, and travel.

I have been travelling for many years, but only recently decided to blog. Why? many reasons. Friends and family on facebook have asked me to after I post pics. I find it fun.  I believe there are people who love to travel, but are too career oriented to ditch everything and get lost. I am not one of them. I enjoy my job, the income it affords me, and believe that you can strike a good balance between working hard and travelling frequently. A balance not easily achieved, and I will like to share how.

As I start my blog, I have been to 47 countries. I am heading to #48 in a couple of days. Will most certainly blog about it because it's Cuba. I intend to continue blogging about my travels, the food i try, the cultures I experience and the people I meet. I will go back and fill in the gaps of the places I've visited periodically.
